nallamala jungal safari

For most tourists taking the road to Srisailam, the view of the imposing dam with river Krishna’s waters gushing out of its gates and a darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy is not enough without a glimpse of dense Nallamala forest in Farahabad.
The best part of the 250-km drive to and fro Srisailam is that about 70-km stretch goes through the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve, which is the biggest in terms of area, and about 80 km through the dense forest and Nallamala Hills.
One can see waterfalls and several species of wildlife. For the discerning urbanite, everything appears different, far from the madding crowds and concrete jungle.
About 2,500 light vehicles pass through the Mannanur check-post in the weekends while on weekdays it’s around 1,000 vehicles, whose owners pay a token of Rs. 10 towards the Environment Conservation Fund. Away from the main road, Farahabad Tiger View Point from the entrance is about 8 km. The fact that it takes about 50 minutes to reach the View Point shows how dense the forest is.
Finally, when the tourists reach the spot, the view is simply breath taking. The forest cover is so thick that one cannot see the land beneath, a few 100 metres below the sheer drop. The wildlife that tourists can easily see are spotted deer, ‘Sambar’, ‘Neelghai’, ‘Chousinga’, ‘Chinkara’, antelopes, monkeys, ‘Langurs’, porcupines, rattles and water dogs, apart from reptiles and bears that make an occasional appearance. All through the drive, the noise of engines recedes into the background, overtaken by the chirp of the birds.
Though it is called the Tiger View Point, spotting a tiger or a leopard is very difficult, considering that there are only 25 to 30 in all, going by the latest survey this May, that uses scat and pug marks collection and photographs.

Engineering Colleges and their quality of the education

Why Engineering Colleges are shutting down?
The boom in Information technology based service industry during the time period 2000 to 2010 led to increase in the number of engineering colleges in India. Majority of these engineering colleges where mostly established by politicians, small scale businessmen, and individuals who wanted use privatization of higher education as a mean to enhance their wealth and power in the society.
Though the regulatory body like AICTE have been regulating the quality of the education, they have miserably failed to improve the quality of education at large. The structured curriculum delivered through, outdated university system has not created professionals who are up-to-date with technological changes. Other than the IT service industry and traditional manufacturing industries majority of the 16 Lakhs engineers don’t find employment or able to be technical entrepreneurs like developed countries.
When one looks deeper into the current state of engineering education the answers are crystal clear,
1. The technological changes have led to more job opportunities outside IT industry and at the same time automation & machine learning in the developed countries has led to decline of skilled manpower in the IT service sector.
2. Engineering education has become manufacturing industry rather than learning and researching centers.
Volume of students:
AICTE based on the facilities available for the conduct of courses allots minimum number of intakes per disciplines .Normally this number is 60 per discipline at Bachelors level and 18 at Master level.
Considering the rigorous nature of engineering and technology education this is huge number to be trained especially at the undergraduate level. Many colleges and universities and the regulating bodies conveniently hide the volume game when it comes to quality of education offered.
Quality of Intake at Undergraduate Engineering courses:
Students passing from the 10 + 2 system of secondary school education with mathematics as a subject along with Physics, Chemistry are eligible to apply for the engineering colleges undergraduate programs. To fill the number of seats that has been allocated to the engineering colleges in each discipline of undergraduate degree programs the entrance level qualification in-in-terms of mark secured have been lowered bare minimum of 45 % in the qualifying School leaving examination that securing a seat in an engineering course has become so easier.
Syllabus Up gradation:
Since all the engineering colleges are affiliated to Technical University in that particular state upgrading syllabus with respect to changing technology has become tedious process in getting consensus syllabus across the country. The syllabus created being centralized doesn’t provide flexibility to innovate where ever required as per the location needs.
Lack of need based delivery:
Most of the engineering colleges function like manufacturing industry. Most of the courses are delivered to structured syllabus with specific text books and laboratories exercises. This is in-turn creates apathy among students in obstructing creative thinking and experimentation. The methods of evaluation is about the volume of information known in a particular subject rather than the depth of understanding a student has in particular subject. This has resulted in graduates who are neither skilled in their engineering tasks nor able to creatively think and solve problems at intellectual level required in research & development industry.
Lack of applied engineering:
Most of the subjects are delivered through theoretical means rather practical mode .Route learning has become the fulcrum of education. Most of the engineering colleges have ready made laboratory equipment for the training purposes. Irrespective of the discipline of engineering most of the laboratory exercises are standardized. Experiments are always performed on the training equipment in groups rather in individual nature. This method of teaching and learning process has resulted in growth of many small and medium scale industries which supply ready made equipment to setup laboratories for the listed experiments. This practically kills the enthusiasm to learn in group and creative thinking . Practically nullifies divergent thinking.
Lack of Quality Professors:
Engineering colleges lack quality teaching professionals. Since most of the professors have graduated from similar type of engineering colleges. There has been constant neglect of research and development at college level since the academic culture and environment is not created by the Postgraduate degree holding professionals. Most of the doctorates who are currently employed as teachers in engineering colleges lack the depth of engineering skills. They have got degrees for the post and promotion not for the love of science or technology. Somehow the quality of engineering doctoral degrees has not sufficed the quality of teaching. Since their methods of learning, researching and thought process is similar to that of undergraduate engineering education. Teachers mostly lack the practical skills in engineering. Engineering is basically design and construction. When such teachers stand in the classroom and theoretically explain concepts on white boards rather than experimentally presenting them and correlating with theoretical aspects, the students end up as memorizing like memory sticks. Many of the engineering college teachers lack even the basic skill sets which are minimum required to develop any engineering design on their own.
Engineering Colleges as Profit centres:
Though privatization of engineering colleges has contributed in immensely to progress of IT and IT enabled sector majority of the colleges run as profit centers .Private investors look at engineering colleges as a profit centers and the number of colleges have grown over the years due to rampant corruption at large. Establishing and running an engineering college has become a goal oriented business model. AICTE and UGC regulates the fees to be charged by the private run engineering colleges .But there has not been a standard evaluation model to assess on the fees collected and the investment made on the infrastructure development like laboratories ,library and other campus amenities. Even though some colleges fulfil these minimum requirement they have failed to inspire students to use these infrastructure.
Decline in core disciplines:
Starting from late 90s the growth in the service industry has resulted in total decline of traditional and fundamental areas of engineering and technology. Students and parental focus on short term service jobs has resulted in huge surge in the number of students enrolled in Information Technology and Software related courses. So there has been a steep decline in the core disciplines like electrical, mechanical and civil engineering at both Bachelors and Masters Level. In the NASSCOM-Mckenzie report it has been observed that 9 million engineering students will go for the IT/ITES sectors and BPO creating six million vacancies in the manufacturing sectors, retail and transportation.
Focus on English language and Aptitude Test:
Most of the engineering colleges are more focused on providing employment to students in the IT service industry and BPO’s through placements. Students are encouraged only to improve their English spoken skills and aptitude solving techniques. Since the industry requirement is limited towards programming and debugging for back office work and employment in service industry is easy focus on core areas of engineering is side-lined and curriculum developed ends up only being benchmark to pass evaluation process. Soft skills have become necessity to place students in service industry. But it always the mother tongue it enables individuals to think more spontaneously and creatively. Multilingual is progressive brain process , cognition , its scientifically proven fact it starts at early childhood. Even soft skills should be given equal importance if it taken seriously , even that is not achieved in most of the colleges.
Societal Issues:
The economic growth in the IT service industry has resulted in the societal consciousness that getting engineering degree is the stepping stone to success .This has resulted in the pressure among students to pursue engineering degree though the individual may not have an inclination toward engineering .Its societal respect and recognition given for engineers that has resulted in decline in the quality of the students passing out with engineering degrees. As per the report of the NASSCOM-Mckenzie report only 25 % of the graduates of the engineering colleges are employable.
Quality of Postgraduate Engineering Education:
As the number of seats in Bachelor degree in IT related engineering disciplines were increased to meet the requirements of IT industry from 2000, the demand for qualified engineering professors increased, this led to creation of more specialized courses based on the American model of Postgraduate education .M.Tech and M.E courses were approved and launched across many engineering colleges which have completed 4 years of operation and have required Accreditation as per the norms of AICTE. Similar to the undergraduate curriculum the PG curriculum was structured and rigid .Such a curriculum cannot offer scope for research as part of the curriculum. This has led to grooming of below quality teachers in engineering education.
Lack of innovative mind-set:
Though the current population appears tech savvy and well informed through internet, mobile etc but its failing in terms of innovation to use the technology rather they would prefer salaried job. India faces numerous problems like irrigation, lighting etc which can be sorted by using cost effective innovative technology but there are not many takers for the same. Though consumption has increased but productivity has decreased, this is clearly reflected in term of research output ,product development since the risk takers are very few and rare, the younger generations is content enjoying the wealth rather than contributing for themselves or for the society at large.
India has achieved a lot based on 10 % of population contribution imagine India when 90 % of the population contributes ?

It's Surprising How People Thinking bank robbery

During a robbery, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: “Don’t move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you.” Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called “Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking. When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: “Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!” This is called “Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do! When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): “Big brother, let’s count how much we got.” The older robber rebutted and said: “You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!” This is called “Experience.” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications! After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: “Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”. This is called “Swim with the tide.” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!
The supervisor says: “It will be good if there is a robbery every month.” This is called “Killing Boredom.” Personal Happiness is more important than your job. The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: “We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!” This is called “Knowledge is worth as much as gold!”
The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery. This is called “Seizing the opportunity.” Daring to take risks! So who are the real robbers here?

Airways: Fuelled by INDIAN Love

feel the Indian  love

I don't know about others but this video brought tears to my eyes.. We often don't recognize our cultural values probably because we take it for granted since we have inherited it and not earned it but it is when you get a chance to see it from someone's else eyes you feel so lucky and overwhelmed to be born in a country like India. Always a proud Indian!

It really amazes me that how can so much love be packed into a six and half minute commercial. This is one gem of a video, and I genuinely want to say Thank you to all the amazing people at British Airways. Loved every second of this video. :')

Ask yourself, Where is your focus? Where is your faith and hope?

THE PREGNANT DEER

In a forest, a pregnant deer is about to give birth.
She finds a remote grass field near a strong-flowing river.
This seems a safe place.
Suddenly labour pains begin.
At the same moment, dark clouds gather around above & lightning starts a forest fire.
She looks to her left & sees a hunter with his bow extended pointing at her.
To her right, she spots a hungry lion approaching her.
What can the pregnant deer do?
She is in labour!
What will happen?
Will the deer survive?
Will she give birth to a fawn?
Will the fawn survive?
Or will everything be burnt by the forest fire?
Will she perish to the hunters’ arrow?
Will she die a horrible death at the hands of the hungry lion approaching her?
She is constrained by the fire on the one side & the flowing river on the other & boxed in by her natural predators.
What does she do?
She focuses on giving birth to a new life.
The sequence of events that follows are:
- Lightning strikes & blinds the hunter.
- He releases the arrow which zips past the deer & strikes the hungry lion.
- It starts to rain heavily, & the forest fire is slowly doused by the rain.
- The deer gives birth to a healthy fawn.
In our life too, there are moments of choice when we are confronted on αll sides with negative thoughts and possibilities.
Some thoughts are so powerful that they overcome us & overwhelm us.
Maybe we can learn from the deer.
The priority of the deer, in that given moment, was simply to give birth to a baby.
The rest was not in her hands & any action or reaction that changed her focus would have likely resulted in death or disaster.
Ask yourself,
Where is your focus?
Where is your faith and hope?
In the midst of any storm, do keep faith on the Creator always. He will never ever disappoint you. NEVER.
Remember, He neither slumbers nor sleeps…
One of the best I have read….

hope the best is waiting for you
at the end of the day manaku ade correct oo ade manadegareke vasthunde

                               It's Possible

Marvelous video. 'It is our attitude towards life which determines life's attitude towards us'.

                                    ATTITUDE

attitude +ve thinking

Interviews have always been a nerve racking experience. A situation where you are judged on your performance for a job. Companies are now much more thorough in their hiring process and the job market has become more competitive. Now-a-days nobody is questioning the skill-based questions while interviewing candidates. Then the question is How to crack the interview that’s not crackable? Here’s a video about an interview process for the job, where the best of the best gets rejected and finally one person with less aggregate got selected. Have a look how he got selected!
Its not because they don’t have knowledge or anything was wrong about their academic activity. Its just the attitude, people tend to say things in an interview which an interviewer wants to listen but not what he actually wants to say.
Always appear in Interview with attitude as in you don’t need this job”. It will help you to overcome the fear of rejection or losing the job & boost your Self Confidence. No company will hire fearful person so overcome your fear if want the Job.

Adept at wearing many hats, a young IAS officer bucked the trend by deciding to quit his coveted job to tutor civil service aspirants for free through his online initiative. 24-year-old Roman Saini, with a vision of providing free education to aspirants through ‘Unacademy’, had completed his graduation from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) prior to joining the prestigious IAS.
The thirst to serve the country at the national level has driven theAssistant Collector posted in Jabalpur to take such a decision. In a Facebook post, Saini wrote, “In 2011, Gaurav Munjal, whom I have known since school as the closest friend, called and spoke about his new idea ‘Unacademy’ which he had started on YouTube by posting a bunch of videos.”
“He (Munjal) had a vision of free education – and he asked me to join him. Four years later, ‘Unacademy’ is now India’s one of the largest YouTube channels with 1.1 crore lessons delivered and over 5 Lakh students benefited,” he said. “Recently, Gaurav and I took a life changing decision, we decided to quit whatever we were doing to pursue this full time,” he said in his post, as reported by PTI.
Jabalpur Collector S N Rupla said that Saini had decided to quit the IAS in September last year as he wants to do better at national level. The young IAS officer has started an online initiative “Unaccademy” to offer free tutorials to civil services aspirants, Rupla said, adding that his resignation is yet to be accepted by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT).

Saini, in the Facebook post, termed the decision to quit his lucrative job as “difficult”, but said he will pursue his passion to take forward ‘Unacademy’ full time. “Personally, it was a difficult decision to quit the civil services, as I have utmost respect for it. But I believe in Unacademy’s vision of free education, and hence, will be pursuing it full time from now,” he said in the post.

I Married a Stranger

Story of a girl - "I Married a Stranger.."
I was on the bed, feeling terrified. I opened my diary and wrote, 'I married a stranger' and quickly hid it under the bed. My whole body was shaking.
"What do I do?" I questioned myself.
"Do I act like a virgin?"
"But what if he finds out? Do I tell him to wait for it for a few days? But what if it makes him angry?"
The front door opened and my heart jumped in my neck. I was breathing heavily. The sound of his footsteps gave me goosebumps. I looked down and pretended to be calm. I saw him stopping at the door though I wasn't looking at him.
"Ghauri", he said with ever-so-calm voice. I dared not to look at him.
"Ghauri, I am going to sleep in another room", he said.
'If your husband doesn't want to sleep with you, you have failed as a wife', echoed my mother's voice in my head. But I didn't look up. I stayed quiet.
"Don't you want to ask me why?", he said, with little humor in his voice, clearly trying to cheer me up. I looked at him for just a few seconds and looked down again.
"You are my wife", he said and paused, and then he continued, "not a prostitute."
I really didn't know what he meant as my mind wasn't working well. 'When you don't know what to say to your husband, keep your mouth shut' came back my father's voice. I obeyed him as usual.
"If we sleep together when we really don't know each other, what different you would be from a prostitute? We will sleep together someday, when both of us wants it, and that day, I'd be making love to my wife. I definitely won't be having sex with a stranger."
He turned off the light and just few seconds later, put it on and said funnily, "I am not a secret gay by the way. I promise you that."
Despite how scared I was, I giggled. He smiled, turned off the light and went to another room. I was still giggling. As I slept on the bed without removing my make-up or anything, tears rolled down from the corner of my eyes.
People say it amazes them when we shed tears while we are happy. They say, it didn't make sense, but to me, it made more sense. We felt something so strong that a part of us couldn't stay inside us, that's what I thought anyway. To me, shedding tears while being happy meant more.
I woke up and made myself ready to make breakfast. I went to the kitchen but he was there, cooking. I don't know how horrified I looked because it made him really scared. He quickly ran to me and said, "Ghauri, are you fine?" and his voice was filled with worries.
"Why are you cooking?" I said with a low voice.
He seemed lost. And finally he realized what I meant. "Ghauri, look at me. I like cooking, okay? You can cook when you like and so will I."
"Ghauri", his voice was authoritative this time, "you are not my slave. You are my wife!"
'If you let your husband step inside the kitchen, you fail as a wife." mocked my mother's voice as I came out of the kitchen.
I began to open up with him, little by little. I didn't share any of my biggest secrets with him or talked about my ex boyfriends, but I started talking with him. Once, he asked me some important suggestions about his office and my jaw dropped.
But I quickly remembered, my dad doing the same with my mom.
My mom answered and my dad got so furious, he slapped her in front of me for the first time. He looked at me and said angrily, "When your husband ask you about his works, he isn't really asking, so keep your mouth shut."
But they have been wrong ever since I came here. I started suggesting and he listened. I used to shed lots of tears at home and I did the same here too, but the feelings of why it came, was different.
I felt confidence building inside me. I could have never imagined asking him about going with my friends for trekking but I did.
I looked at him and said, "Can I go with my friends for trekking? It is only for two nights. I won't do anything stupid and will come back as soon as I can. Or you could call me if you want me here and I will come back here sooner."
My mom asked about going out with her friends fo for some religious purpose and I still remember my dad's expression. My husband made the same.
He looked at me disgusted. He was clearly angry. I felt naked in front of him for the first time but little did I know, he was going to teach me to not be shameful when I am naked.
"Ghauri", he said frustrated, "how many times have I told you that you are my wife? Why are you taking my permission like that? Like you are a prisoner? In fact, why are you asking at all? Inform me and go. Don't beg for it!", he said and walked away angrily.
My parents gave birth to me and they raised me, but I was only starting to live. My husband was teaching me how to live.
I went behind him. He was looking down the balcony. I stood behind him and looked down as well.
"I am learning, please be patient with me", I said looking down, probably opening that part of me for the first time, "My mother has given me thousand lists of what I can do to fail has a wife and my dad has given me thousand lists of when to shut up. So, I am learning".
He laughed though I wasn't joking. He said, "I apologize for laughing and for my earlier behavior. I will keep that in my mind, if you promise me to remember that you are not in your home anymore. Ghauri, let the past be in the past."
He touched my back for just one second as a comfort but it was his first touch to me after I entered his house. It was, in all honesty, special. And the more he called my name, the more it sounded special.
I started calling my friends home for dinners. We sometimes drank the wine my husband brought for us. I was living. My parents' greatest gift to me wasn't giving birth to me, their greatest gift was marrying me off to a stranger.
One night, my husband and I were drinking. He asked me what I want to become.
I barely whispered, "I want to become a writer."
The expression on his face was priceless, something I could never forget. I had never seen him so happier and I bet there were tears in his eyes. I would have never thought but he had always wanted to be a writer too.
"Got too busy. Will you do that for both of us?", he asked me with smile filled with sadness and joy.
I could only manage a nod.
That night, I cried like never before. I covered my face with pillow tightly to protect the sound. I didn't know why I was crying so hard but I wanted to scream. I saw a black shadow near my door. He was standing there, watching me.
I stood up and went to him and I kissed him. I hugged him and kissed him again. I dragged him in the bed.
"You sure it isn't the wine doing?" he asked me.
I rolled my eyes and replied, "You sure you aren't a secret gay?"
He laughed, "You are about to find out." he said and pushed me on bed and kissed me while undressing me.
It was typical of me but I had to say it, I thought I owed it to him. I stopped him and said, "Before we start, I just want you to know. I am not a virgin."
He waved his hand off and said, "I thought you were going to say that you have AIDS."
I laughed and pulled him close and kissed him.
And we did it. I had sex with him after three and half months of our marriage. Let me scratch that, I made love to my husband after three and half months of our marriage and sure enough, he was straight.
I woke up the next day and looked at him sleeping peacefully beside me. I was sure of one thing like never before.
I took out my diary and turned to the page where I wrote with a blue ink 'I married a stranger'. I picked the black pen and wrote, 'and I fell in love with him' because I really had fallen deeply in love with him. I smiled and decided to keep a promise I made to him. I was going to write, I was always sure of that but what I didn't know was what I was going to write about. Now I did. I was going to write about us.
